NATIONAL CAT CLUB SHOW

11th December 2010
Thank you to Carol and her hard working team for my invite. I had a very enjoyable day in the company of my friend Shaun Knight who handled the cats and kittens with expertise and care.

AC British Champion Adult – Male
Gr Ch – Marsland-Round’s Ch Catbalu Chianti Classico (20b)
Lovely large mature boy with a true british head shape, good width between well set ears, balanced cheeks, large round eyes of excellent orange colour, short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Heavy muscular body standing on short thickset legs and rounded paws. Tail in proportion showing rings. His pattern has some brindling and I would have liked it richer in colour but he has a super warm toned contrast on a short dense coat and a lovely temperament.
Reserve – Coulthurst’s Ch. Satinmist Supurr Samson (20)
Another well matured boy with a good round balanced head with good width between well set ears. Balanced cheeks, large round eyes showing some green colour in centres. Short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Heavy muscular body with matching legs and rounded paws. Tail in proportion showing rings but solid in colour along the ridge. He has a clear jet black tabby pattern with just some brindling between his spine lines. Unfortunately today his ground colour let him down as it was very cold, lacking the rich copper contrast he should have. Lovely short dense coat.

AC British Champion Adult – Female
Gr Ch – Brown’s Ch. Kolinga Mui Mui (16)
Super girl of excellent type and size with a well balanced head, well set ears but flared at base. Well balanced cheeks, round eyes of excellent orange colour, short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Heavy body standing on thickset legs and rounded paws. Tail of correct length, thick at base with a rounded tip. Coat of medium blue colour, very soft in texture but short and sound to roots. Lovely temperament.
Reserve – Bradley’s Ch. Catbalu Arietty (21b)
Very pretty girl with a lovely balanced headshape. Neat ears, nicely rounded cheeks, well rounded eyes of deep gold, short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. She has lovely mingling of red and black on a short dense coat. Well balanced body with good legs and rounded paws. Tail a tad short for balance. Rather wriggly today but a lovely example of a chocolate tortie.
Black Silver Tabby Kitten – Male
1st – William’s Crowvalley Jumpnjive (18)
Well grown young man for his age. His head shape needs to develop and he is a little narrow on the muzzle at present but he is only 7 months old. Ears rather large for balance with a nose of medium length showing some fawning. Excellent green eyes but his eyeshape is a little ‘oriental’ looking. Body of good weight for his age with strong legs and rounded spotted paws. He is going through that rangy stage at the moment. Jet black pattern with clear spine lines, matching oysters with some brindling in the centres, Clear butterfly and lovely clear necklaces and bracelets. Tail in proportion. He has a good clear silver contrast on a coat which is short and dense.

Black Silver Tabby Kitten – Female
1st & BOB – Nicholson’s Metallicat Silver Eclipse (18)
Pretty girl with a well rounded head with good width between ears which are flared at base. Neat balanced cheeks, expressive round eyes which need to be watched, as the colour is a little ‘strong’ but showing green in the centres. Short broad brick coloured nose leather, level bite and firm chin. Excellent weight to body with short thickset legs and rounded spotted paws. Tail of medium length, thick at base with a rounded tip showing clear rings. Excellent jet black tabby pattern on a pale silver contrast. Super short dense coat.
2nd – Willliam’s Crowvally Lindy Lop (18)
Sweet little girl with a fairly good head shape, ears a tad large for balance at present. Little cheeks, round expressive eyes with green in centres, short broad black nose leather, level bite and firm chin. Body of good weight for her age. Tail in proportion showing clear rings. Fairly dense pattern, with a clear butterfly, spine lines a little brindled, oyster match but with brindling in the centres. Excellent silver contrast. I would like her coat which lies a little flat, denser in texture.
3rd – Bruce’s Countrystyle Quick Silver (18)
Smallest girl in the class with a good head shape developing, just a little narrow around the muzzle area. Ears a little large for balance. Excellent round eyes of green colour. Short broad brick nose leather, level bite and firm chin. Body of medium weight with matching legs and rounded spotted paws. Tail of correct length sporting clear rings. Good jet black spinelines with some brindling between them. Clear butterfly showing. Oysters match but are not complete. Excellent silver contrast but her coat lets her down, as it is very flat lying with no density.

Blue Cream, Lilac or Fawn Tortie Kitten
1st & BOB – Finch’s Typically Chinese Whispers (28)
Stunning little girl of excellent type with a lovely ‘open’ face. Neat tiny ears, little cheeks, round eyes of excellent orange colour. Level bite, short broad nose, firm chin with a lovely broad muzzle. Cobby ‘4 square’ body of good depth standing on the shortest thickset legs and rounded paws. Tail in proportion, thick at base with a rounded tip. She has very attractive patches of pale cream and pale blue. Her coat is crisp to touch, short and very dense but at this moment in time, her blue patching is very silvered. Hopefully she will grow out of this, as she is one to watch.
2nd – Noverraz’s Bluepawz Frosted Clover (21c)
Another pretty little kitten with a well rounded head, ears just a little flared at base. Round eyes of deep gold showing a green eye rim today, short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Rather lightweight for her age, with short little legs and rounded paws. Tail in proportion. Good clear spotting on correct ground colour. Coat short but I would like it dense. Not a very happy girl today.

White (Blue-eyed or Odd-eyed) Neuter
1 P.C. & BOB – Cox’s Willowood Dumbledore (14b)
Lovely to see an odd-eyed white boy. Good round head, although his ears are a tad large for balance. Well rounded eyes, one of deep gold colour and the other eye of pale blue. Short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Body of good weight for his age of just over 18 months. Good thick legs and rounded paws. Tail of correct length, thick at base with a rounded tip. He has a clear white body colour with just a small amount of ‘stud tail’ showing at the base of his tail and his chin could have been whiter for perfection. Coat short and dense.

White (Orange-eyed) Neuter
1 P.C. & BOB – Hayward-Cox’s Willowood Gandalf (14a)
Litter brother to the young man above. Well grown boy for his age with a well rounded head, balanced cheeks, ears a tad large for balance. Round eyes of excellent orange colour. Short broad nose, level bite, firm chin which is a little grubby. Large lad with good conformation, standing on short thick legs and rounded paws. Tail in proportion, thick at base with a rounded tip, showing some ‘stud tail’. Excellent clear white coat, short and very dense.

Lilac Neuter – (15c)
1 P.C. & BOB – Acton’s Idlebeck Eenimeeni Mynimo
Well grown boy of excellent type. Well balanced head, ears just a little flared at base. Well rounded cheeks, lovely large round eyes of orange colour, short broad nose, level bite and firm chin. Heavy body with stocky legs and paws. Tail in proportion. Coat of clear lilac colour, short and dense but unsound today.
Blue-Cream, Lilac or Fawn Tortie Neuter
BOB – Harrison’s Gr Pr Diwali Katalina (28)
Black Silver Spotted Neuter
BOB – Harris’ Gr Pr Advish Essyltaloysuis (30s)

Red Self Neuter – Intermediate
1 IC & BOB – Harrison’s Diwali Georgie (15d)
What a delightful ‘old boy’. I can’t call him a ‘young man’ as he is nearly 12 years of age. Super temperament. He has a lovely round head shape, little cheeks, tiny ears and excellent eyes of deepest orange. Alas, no teeth, but level gums, short broad nose, and firm chin. Heavy stocky boy with thickset legs and huge round paws. Tail of correct length. Coat of rich red, short in length, could be denser in texture and sound to roots.
